Goodbye Syracuse, Hello Atlanta.

2025 certainly came off to a busy start and the ball just kept rolling. A huge update: I moved from Syracuse, New York to Atlanta, Georgia!

More and more I'm trying to live my life with intention. I drove from San Bernardino, California to Syracuse because I yearned for a new environment and I always wanted to pursue my education further. The Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University offered a Master's program in Television-Radio-Film that, to me, felt just right. So, moving to Syracuse was a decision with intention.

When I graduated in Spring of 2024, I wanted to decompress from school, start working, and just exist for a bit. I started producing podcast content for WAER and took up some hours at the Fayetteville Free Library, a library that deserves so much more attention. There comes a point when home feels small and our soul hungers for something more. I loved Syracuse and my time there, but I knew I needed something else. I wasn't ready for the West Coast, and New York City was a bit outside of my price range for now. So, moving to Atlanta, Georgia was another decision with intention.

Now, I'm in the south. Now, I'm somewhere completely new and unknown to me. It's scary, as was my first month or so in Syracuse. But I know that this feeling will come to pass, that I will integrate myself wonderfully, and that this decision of intention will be one that pays off.

It is so hard to make big decisions. Leaving the comfort of our homes is such a scary thing to do. Leaving our friends and family. I do believe that we owe it to ourselves to ponder on where the best opportunities for us might be. For now, that place is Atlanta for me.
